Training
Healthcare organizations train their workforce on privacy, security, compliance and the protection of patients and residents. PixelPupil's healthcare courses cover HIPAA privacy and security awareness for everyone on the team, Texas medical privacy law on top of HIPAA, Medicare compliance and fraud, waste and abuse, and nursing facility compliance and resident abuse prevention.
Each certificate is a record of completion of general training, not a HIPAA certification. Your organization still provides its own policies, procedures and role-specific training. Courses are available in English and Spanish at $11.95 per course credit.
Any covered entity or business associate: HIPAA Privacy and HIPAA Security Awareness
Organizations in Texas: add Texas Medical Privacy
Medicare Advantage and Part D plans and their contractors: Medicare Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse
Nursing facilities: Nursing Facility Compliance and Abuse Prevention
Healthcare facilities in Texas: also see Texas Healthcare Workplace Violence Prevention under Workplace Safety
How these courses work. Each course is general training based on the rules described on its page. They are not approved or endorsed by any government agency, they do not by themselves make an organization compliant, and the certificate is a record of completion. Your organization still provides its own policies, procedures and records. PixelPupil does not provide trainers: your organization names its own trainer or HR contact in PixelPupil, and learners use Ask the Trainer inside a course.
The HIPAA Privacy Rule requires training for new workforce members within a reasonable time and again after material changes to policies. It sets no fixed yearly date, and many organizations refresh training every year as good practice.
No. It is a record that the person completed the course. HIPAA does not have a certification for workforce members.
General training information, not legal advice. PixelPupil courses are not approved or endorsed by any government agency and do not by themselves make an organization compliant. The certificate is a record of completion. Rules change, so check the rules that apply to your organization with your own advisor.
