Training
Many laws and contracts ask organizations to train their people on security and privacy. PixelPupil's core course, Cybersecurity Awareness, gives every employee the common foundation: phishing, passwords, safe handling of data and reporting incidents. Short supplements then add the specific rules that apply to your business, such as the FTC Safeguards Rule, Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00, New York DFS Part 500 and state insurance data security laws.
Other courses cover payment card security (PCI DSS), consumer privacy requests under the California Consumer Privacy Act, telecommunications customer data (CPNI), identity theft red flags and maritime cybersecurity. Everything is available in English and Spanish at $11.95 per course credit.
Every business: start with Cybersecurity Awareness
Non-bank financial businesses: add the FTC Safeguards Rule supplement
Businesses that own or license data about Massachusetts residents: add 201 CMR 17.00
Businesses authorized under New York financial, banking or insurance law: add DFS Part 500
Insurers, agencies and producers: add the Insurance Data Security Law supplement
Businesses that take card payments: Payment Card Security Awareness
Businesses covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act: CCPA Privacy Request Handling
How these courses work. Each course is general training based on the rules described on its page. They are not approved or endorsed by any government agency, they do not by themselves make an organization compliant, and the certificate is a record of completion. Your organization still provides its own policies, procedures and records. PixelPupil does not provide trainers: your organization names its own trainer or HR contact in PixelPupil, and learners use Ask the Trainer inside a course.
Take the core Cybersecurity Awareness course first, then the supplement for each rule that applies to your business. Supplements are short because they do not repeat the core material.
No. PixelPupil courses are general training and are not approved by any government agency. Your organization still needs its own security program, procedures and records.
General training information, not legal advice. PixelPupil courses are not approved or endorsed by any government agency and do not by themselves make an organization compliant. The certificate is a record of completion. Rules change, so check the rules that apply to your organization with your own advisor.
